Métis Voice: HIV, Health And Place Project
This community based participatory action research project used art as a way to talk about the connections between Métis women, youth and communities’ relationships to land and health.
The main research question addressed was:
As Métis women and youth, how does our environment (example: relationship to land and place) impact our sexual and reproductive health (example: HIV)?
It was led by and for Métis youth, communities, and Native Youth Sexual Health Network staff. The project was a partnership between the Native Youth Sexual Health Network, the Métis Nation of Ontario and the Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement in Alberta.
