About this Project
The Indigenous Youth Affirmation Deck (IYAD) was designed by and for Indigenous youth to celebrate sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice! This affirmation deck is full of cards that hold supportive, affirming, and positive statements to encourage self-reflection and peer support. Each card features a kind statement to help you feel seen and valued. Indigenous youth are hustling on our ancestral lands and guesting on each other’s territories making shit happen against all odds. Add these to your bundle, share with your relatives, or gift to the rad Indigenous youth in your life!
This project was led by Jamey Boisvert and Zephyr McKenna, with statements written collaboratively by members of the NYSHN network, and artwork by Zephyr McKenna
About the Deck
Each deck features 38 affirmation cards with 6 different background designs, and we offer it both digitally and physically! The digital version of the deck is available as a PDF file you can view and download using the button at the top of this page, and you’re welcome to print your own copy.
The physical version comes in two sizes: business card (3.5 x 2 inches), and postcard (5.47 x 4.21 inches). By using our request form linked at the top of this page, you can order a single deck for yourself or larger quantities for your organization. We offer physical copies of IYAD on a sliding scale that typically ranges from $5-$25 per deck. Indigenous youth are eligible for a free copy of IYAD by filling out the form and selecting the “I am an Indigenous youth, please send my copy for free” option!
